When can I enroll in Medicare?

There is a 7 month Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) for medicare.

  • It begins 3 months before the month you turn 65

  • It Includes the month you turn 65

  • It ends 3 months after the month you turn 65

If you have missed your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), you can still get Medicare, but you will most likely have to enroll during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) or General Enrollment Period (GEP).
